New City College

HOST FAMILIES

Invite college students into your home and pour into them through community building/discipleship. As a host family, you are a “home away from home.” We want students to know that they are seen, heard, and valued at New City, and we ask you to join us by investing in them during this short, exciting season.

COLLEGE LEADERSHIP TEAM

As a college leader, you would intentionally and personally mentor/disciple students at College Nights, as well as throughout the week. It could be anything from getting together for coffee/meal or hosting a small group! The time commitment here varies, and we can discuss what works best for you!

New City Youth

MIDDLE SCHOOL LEADER

As a middle school leader, you will pursue a genuine relationship with our students and equip them in group discussion by teaching them more about Jesus and God’s Word in a practical and relatable way.

Time Commitment: 9:45am– 11am on Sundays

HIGH SCHOOL LEADER

As a high school leader, you will pursue a genuine relationship with our students and equip them in group discussion by teaching them more about Jesus and God’s Word in a practical and relatable way.

Time commitment: 11:15am – 1pm on Sundays

**So that our students can build lasting relationships with our leaders, we ask that you have attended New City for at least a year and are planning to continue attending for a year. If your time at New City is going to less than that, please check out some of our other serving opportunities. 

New City Kids

NURSERY

As a nursery team member, you will take care of babies and build relationships with parents in our community. You’ll oversee the drop-off and pick-up process, provide a safe space for the babies, and more.

Time commitment: 1 service every Sunday, every other Sunday or once a month 

ONES

As a one-year-old team member, you will provide a safe space for our babies to nap and play on Sunday mornings! You’ll oversee the drop-off and pick-up process, keep the little ones entertained, and build relationships with our families.

Time commitment: 1 service every Sunday, every other Sunday or once a month

TWOS

As a two-year-old team member, you will provide a safe space for our toddlers to play and explore on Sunday mornings! You’ll oversee the drop-off and pick-up process, keep the little ones entertained, and build relationships with our families.

Time commitment: 1 service every Sunday, every other Sunday or once a month

PRESCHOOL TEAM

As a preschool team member, you’ll get to help teach our preschoolers that God loves them, God made them and Jesus wants to be their friend forever through Bible stories, worship and age-appropriate activities.

Time commitment: 1 service every Sunday, every other Sunday or once a month

K-2ND SMALL GROUP LEADER

On this team, you will help us welcome and engage kids by delivering the weekly message in a way that’s engaging, inspiring and age-appropriate. We need high-energy, driven leaders!

Time commitment: 1 service every Sunday, every other Sunday or once a month

3-5TH SMALL GROUP LEADER

On this team, you will help us welcome and engage kids by delivering the weekly message in a way that’s engaging, inspiring and age-appropriate. We need high-energy, driven leaders!

Time commitment: 1 service every Sunday, every other Sunday or once a month

Prayer Team

PRAYER TEAM MEMBER

As a member of the prayer team, you would volunteer on a regular schedule to pray for people in our community who send in prayer requests throughout the week.

Time commitment: 1 service each Sunday

PRAYER CARD WRITER

Our prayer card writers send weekly notes of encouragement — either by email or a handwritten note — to 1-3 people who have submitted a prayer request.

Time commitment: 30 minutes a week

Justice Team

Sign up to be a Justice & Care volunteer below! When you take this next step, we will put you on our email list! Then, you’ll receive upcoming Justice & Care service opportunities every month. They will range from smaller projects at Hope Women’s Center or local schools to our big service events like “Love our City” day! You can view details below:

HOPE WOMEN’S CENTER

We’ve partnered with Hope Women’s Center – a Christian nonprofit organization that supports vulnerable women and teen girls – and will help them with various projects throughout the year. You can sign up to help us with specific service projects every month.

KENILWORTH ELEMENTARY

We work with local schools to make a lasting impact in our community! For example, Kenilworth is a title I elementary school right in our backyard. We help these schools with anything from area beautification to school supply drives to teacher appreciation lunches and more.

LOVE OUR CITY

This team will help us bring the hope of Jesus and the heart of New City beyond the walls of our building. Our Love the City event will happen on a Saturday in the fall, and will be the primary on-ramp for on-going “Local Good” serving opportunities.

Music and Production

CAMERA/VIDEO PRODUCTION

In this production role, you would assist with on-site operation of broadcast cameras for online services. You’d also help control the live-feed switcher for our online broadcasts and in-person gatherings.

SINGER/MUSICIAN

Volunteer to join our worship team on Sundays! Whether you sing or play an instrument, we have different on-stage roles available.

GENERAL PRODUCER

As a volunteer producer, you would oversee and monitor the overall production of a Sunday service from lighting, to transitions to slides, and more.

Welcome Team

GREETER

As a greeter, you will be responsible for helping us set up Sunday morning for success — whether that’s putting out chairs behind the scenes or welcoming everyone who comes through New City’s doors. Engage with our community and help people get connected!

Time Commitment: 1 Service, 2 Sundays a month

COFFEE BAR

The coffee bar is visited by most of our church family. In this role you will be welcoming guests, helping them get caffeinated, keep coffee stocked, and answer any questions guests may have.

Time Commitment: 1 Service, 2 Sundays a month

CONNECT TEAM

The Connect Corner is the central hub for everyone on Sundays. Your primary role on this team would be to connect with guests and inform those looking for more information about the church and our events. On the connect team, you’ll sign up to serve one to two Sundays a month. Help us connect with people who have indicated they attended New City for the first time. We will text those who joined us for the first time. 

Time Commitment: 1 Service, 2 Sundays a month or Weekly, throughout the week

WELCOME TO NEW CITY TEAM

Help create and foster a welcoming and organized environment for new people as they attend Welcome to New City. This includes checking people in, setting up the space, and answering questions.

Time Commitment: After 2nd Service as Welcome To New City is scheduled

Care Team

As part of our care team, you will assist with care-related needs on Sundays — including physical, financial, spiritual, and mental wellness. You’ll help connect people with resources, provide prayer, and much more. There are various roles within this team, and a background check is required.
